General Information: One of the rare Daum cars,
the JaguarMKII was designed in the larger 1:12 scale, and produced
only in a limited edition of 250 pieces. As one of the later Daum cars
produced, the MKII was shipped in Daum's shoebox style box. It came
with a certificate of Authenticity that was also numbered to match
the car. This car was also designed by Xavier Froissart. I have now
verified the actual edition size of the Jaguar MKII, with some
help from people in high places! Only 93 Jaguar MKII's were actually
produced and sold by Daum.
I am very pleased to have S/N 1/250 in my collection. This car is
not only signed "Daum France", but also signed by the
designer as "X. Froissart", and is further annotated as
the first Artist's Example by the designation "1 EA".
I have added additional pictures below showing Xavier Froissart's
signature and the EA designation. For further information about
EA cars, see my Daum
Automobiles page. This car also has a one-of-a-kind metal nameplate.
It is identical to standard production nameplates, except that it
is engraved with the information rather than being silkscreened
in black ink. See picture below. Where it appears the lettering
is white is where the engraving is highlighted by the flash of the
camera.
Update: One non-serialized MKII has been found. It has been signed
Daum France, it just does not have a serial number. It is not known
if any other unserialized MKII's exist. If you have one (or an unserialized
DB5) please let me know.
