General Information: This masterpiece, commonly
called "The Five Rings of the Olympics" is officially
named "Dauphins
Jouant" and consists of 4 large dolphins jumping through the
5 olympic rings in unison.
This piece was first designed in 1970 in recognition of the
1968 Grenoble Olympics games.
The known problems with thes peices are: 1) minor glass chipping
around the mounting holes in the dolphins upper fin area, caused
by the bare metal wire supports, and 2) weak welds among the olympic
rings that must get repaired and then re-plated. If handled carefully,
these problems should be minimized.
The overall dimensions on this piece are 27" wide x 32" high
x 21" deep. Each dolphin unscrews for shipping, as well as the
support structure, but this still makes a large and heavy shipping
package. |
