General Information: The Concordes is a grouping
of three Concorde Airplanes streaking through the skies at Mach speed.
Each Concorde is supported on a chrome pole coming up from a triangular
base. The sculpture came with a metal and wood nameplate.
Each of the 3 Concorde planes are 20" long, and were very
stylized. They are many times thought to be birds. In actual fact,
the Concordes were probably made from the same mold
as an earlier piece that showed 3 long neck birds in flight, just
changing the description and name to take advantage of the popularity
of the Air France Concorde planes in the late 1970's.
Given the low S/N's I have already run across, it seems like only
100 or so of these sculptures were actually made by Daum. If you
have
one
of these pieces I would love to hear from you and add your S/N to
my database. |
